so if my score is 7, that means I have got very bleak chances of getting PR?
For Canadian immigration you get points for scoring in each band, the total score is 16 and each band has maximum of 4 points, so you need to score good in each band and then check how much you get out of 4.

Check this link below it shows how much you need to score in each band to score high marks.

6 band is sufficient for canadian immigration. Keeping in view that you are successfully achieving 67 points

More important is your overall score of 67 than any particular score in IELTS

But if you apply in profession where high english skill is needed then you would be expected to have moderate to high skill 10-16 points

Well the more the better..!!

I came across an argument that anything equal or greater to 67 is Ok but in fact higher the score, the better are the chances to get into.

67 is the minimum score to be eligible but it doesn't mean that a candidate with a total score of 82 stands same chance to immigrate as another applicant with score of 68.

Similarly regarding IELTS, the more the better...I'd say an overall band score of 7 would give a better edge.
