Hello Guys...I am planning to apply for immigration under CEC class. I know I fall under NOC 2132 (mechanical engineer) which is Skill A and I was going through the cic guides where I got confused with the IELTS requirements. The list in that guide shows two different CLB levels for skill level 0,A. And CLB level 7 and 8 has different minimum reqirements. So I am actually confused about my minimum IELTS requirement.

If anybody knows anything about it then please let me know. I truly appreciate your help.

Thank you.

If you have qualifying Canadian work experience at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A of NOC, your test results must match the CLB/NCLC below (see chart):
7 or higher for each of the language abilities, or
6 for any one of the language abilities, 7 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 8 or higher for the remaining ability..

NOC CLB Level Test result for each ability
Speaking Listening Reading Writing
0, A 8 6.5 7.5 6.5 6.5
0, A 7 6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0
0, A, B 6 5.5 5.5 5.0 5.5
B 5 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0
B 4 4.0 4.5 3.5 4.0

The table above is used by different organizations in canada and set their own standards in terms of language..
Refer to clb 7 if you're applying under noc a. CEC has only 2 clb, 7 and 5....where 5 is for noc b....

Also, CLB 8 applies to application for Skilled Workers and Professionals immigration or the so called Federal skilled Worker Program where only holders of 29 highly in demand list of occupations qualify... In your case, it's CLB 7...

So basically I have to get minimum 6 for each of the ability?

Thank you so much, it was a great help.
