For eligibility, it's 6 bands in each module. But to qualify for Fedral Skilled worker, and get full points on Comprehensive Ranking System, you need CLB9 (L:8, R/W/S:7)

The language requirement (i.e, to be eligible, i.e., to qualify to apply) is CLB 7 which is IELTS 6. If you want to maximize your points, that's a different question. You can aim for CLB 9 or CLB 10 in this case (but it is not required to apply).

Please suggest how to prepare, I find it hard indeed to get high BAND.
