IELTS require or not?

hello everyone,

I am moving to Canada next month as I got my family class visa. Basically i did masters from Rajiv Gandhi university and I would like to continue my studies over there. My concern is do I require IELTS to get admission in Canadian college or university? Is there any alternative of IELTS?
