IELTS or TOEFL?????-------------URGENT, GUYS PLEASE HELP!!!

hi guys

i gave toefl on Feb. this year and got a score of 101/120. The college that i have applied to have accepted my toefl score. Today I got a mail from my counselor that ielts is mandatory if I want to apply for visa. So is it true that my toefl score will not be considered by visa officer?
Should i apply for ielts as well?
