Can anyone please tell me which test has a higher percentage of passing as required for Canadian Experience Class ? IELTS or CELPIP ?

Thanks

the only problem with celpip is that the speaking is through computer which is little awakard otherwise I have heard celpip is good for other (like reading, write and listen). ielts - atleast study for 2-3 weeks and you should be good to get the passing marks and more .

The IELTS listening is spoken in an English accent, some people have a problem with this (LOL)

For applicants who have been in the country for some time and have obviously grown a custom to the Canadian way of speaking, the CELPIP test will be the best for you no doubt!

On the other hand if your from the UK or a country where you learn English the UK way Id go with IELTS

Thank you for the reply. For IELTS, i have heard that there are two institutions from which one can take the test ,which are British council and IDP ? Any idea which which one is preferable in case I decide to go with IELTS .

Thanks

haven't heard of the IDP version I must admit, what accent can you understand easier?

With you on this one. Havent heard of IDP and I've taken the IELTS a few times (different places).

Personally, I have no problem understanding any of it. They do mix in Australian, British, North-American and so forth. And the whole speaking to the computer deal....hmmm! When I took the IELTS, the people were really nice and the conversation portion wasnt that hard. From people I know, most said that they would rather have taken IELTS, but I guess its a personal preference.

CELPIP easier as my opinion

Yes the CELPIP speaking test is recorded by the computer. I would think this is actually easier than talking to a person. Surely the back-and-forth of a real conversation is a more thorough test of speaking ability than just giving a simple response to a question.

With CELPIP you can be in and out in three hours, whereas IELTS takes about double this (by all accounts). Also if you're in a rush you may find CELPIP has bookings available sooner.
