IELTS from New Delhi

Hi,

I want to appear for IELTS Exam from British Council.
I am filling Application form and sending the same by post along with DD.

But I am concern as how would I be knowing that the date I have selected has beeb confirmed and I can appear for the Exam on that date. Please guide anyone.

Also plase share your experience if anyone has faced IELTS from British Council....

Also if I want to appear on 7th Nov, what are the possibilities of the Results. When I would get these Results in the form of Hard Copy as I want to send my Aplication by the end of December.

I don't want my application to get delayed due to Results.

Please tell if I have teh right date.

You will get the results on the 13th day of your examination. The results will be posted to your mobile and also will be available online. The hard copies will be posted to you that day and will reach you in max 2 days. So ball park, you will get everything by 22nd or 23rd of November. Good luck. I have just given my exam and waiting for my results.

Please tell the better option to apply for Exam:

1. Sending DD with Form.
2. Submitting Cash at the Bank.

I applied online and submitted my docs on the day of the exam. I am not sure of how the process works if you fill a form with a DD. I think if I were to be you , I will visit the British Council and just pay by cash or card. I think its a hassle free process. They will give you the date you choose with an acknowledgement prep material.

My experience was very smooth. I applied online , paid by card and got the ack and materials mailed to me. On the day of the exam ,l I showed my PP and submitted 2 PP photos. Thats it.

Hopefully my results are also as smooth as the process was :-D

I talked to them and they said that if I want to pay Cash then I have to visit ICICI Bank and can submit fees there as I am not using any Credit Card.

Also please tell how was teh Exam like. I mean is it normal or tough. I am really concerned about that.

Hi Meena,

Any IELTS test you give either from British council or from IDP,

1) All provide the prep material and the exam dummy papers, so that one would get the feel, how the exam will be conducted.
2) Its better you enroll at the earliest, start doing your home work based on the prep material provided, so you build your confidence. There is no rocket science as we all do our education in english medium anyway. The prep is required to boost your confidence only.
3) If possible / time permit try to join some ielts tuitions etc so that you will get the real feel how the things will be if need to score atleat 7 band in each module.

This is my observation so far, i have done mine ielts few months back and got 8 in overall. But after two attempts. Do not take it lightly as i did and only studied one night before the exam but at the same time do not take so much on yourself so it will become a tension for you.

Thats cool. I still do think that visiting the bank and paying by cash is a much more convenient method than posting a DD.

I thought the exam was alright. I have to wait for my scores to see if my predictions come true.

When you pay by cash or card, you can choose a date for the exam.

Yes this is a prep material. You will get a IELTS book and a CD with listening practice modules. Will be helpful.

hi meena i am new to this forum ,recd my 120 day letter on 22nd sept,in process of collecting required docs. yes ucan very well pay by debit card idid it my self.ihave also posted a msg today requesting all new delhi members to join so that we can help each other.

whatever u do, do it as early as possible. if u have registered urself online then u have to make a payment within 3 days, otherwise ur registration could well be cancelled. deposit cash in icici after taking a printout of deposit form from british council website. send it to bc. as fas as exam is concerned, prepare urself for atleast a month and u can receive the score u want.
