Hi guys.
So my application is stuck at 430 points. Its a couple application where, our score was 428 with my wife's ielts score as : L - 7, R - 8, W 6.5 S - 8.5, overall 7.5 My Ielts is L 8.5 R 8 W 7 S 8. My wife gave another IELTS and she scored L 8.5 R 9 W 6 S 7. This will not change our CRS at all, except take it from 428 to 430. I am thinking now to do french language classes and give a tef later on, once i am good enough, however, i wanted to know, what clb should my tef score be, to make a difference on the crs, in the sense that it'll come under the invitations cut-off.
What other options can we look at apart from giving another ielts.

You have a good ielts score, I wouldn't call it failure. I think CLB 7 in french will give 16 points. CLB 5 will give 6 points

Yes, MY score is good, howevrr, my wifes is not good enough to give us an invite. we are still at 430. We need around 10 - 12 points to get into the cut-off. so if CLB 7 gives 16 points thats the aim i should be heading to, if i can learn french that is.

I believe both scores are good. However, the drop from 8.5 to 7 in speaking unrelated to the CRS is a bit discomforting. Try TEF and maybe you could change your academic profile with a 1 year diploma from a WES recognized institute.

Your wife can aslo try the IELTS again, targeting a 7.5 in both writing & speaking. You should get higher points for that.
