IELTS Band and Skill Type/Skill Level

Hello Everyone,

Need your help regarding the following IELTS scores:

Listening: 7.0
Reading: 6.5
Writing: 6.0
Speaking: 6.5

Overall: 6.5

Kindly advise on the following few queries:

1) The Overall Band with respect to the above scores.
2) The Skill Type and Skill Level for NOC Code 2174.
3) Whether the overall band provides the eligibility to apply under CEC for NOC code 2174.

I believe your NOC is skill level A

" If you have qualifying Canadian work experience at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A of NOC, your test results must match the CLB/NCLC below (see chart):

7 or higher for each of the language abilities, or
6 for any one of the language abilities, 7 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 8 or higher for the remaining ability "

Scroll down until you see "Language knowledge requirement", keep slowly scrolling down and you will find "Using your test results".

That might help in the meantime while you wait for seniors advice.

CIC states...(see chart below). So lets take it as an advantage and as per that your score is very well eligible. So stay with it and prepare your application package...

or else also If you want to consider the requirement that you have posted here..you are still eligible..but it will be really confusing to get a clear idea..

In my opinion CIC should have quoted a separate chart IELTS to CLB equivalency chart as in h t t p : / / w w w . cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf. Refer section 12.9 in the above link.

Though this OP belongs to Federal skilled workers, language requirement is common to all the categories. I believe this piece is missing in CEC guide and is creating confusion. If you take a look at this chart and do a conversion, you will be happy. I know few friends who have applied with similar score and have become PR. So wrap up fast and send your application
