I had taken my IELTS Acadmic and is planning to apply next week. Do you think as per the new rule I again have to take up the General module. When I checked with one consultant he says Acedmic is still valid. Please let me know where I can get a clear answer on this.

At http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp it says you must take the general training option and at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf on page 31, it says that academic is also accepted.

The first link seems to have been updated in June, the second link in April. However, it used to be general training only so it's hard to say if they've changed it back now or if the comment for general training only in the first link ended up back in there by mistake when they changed something else on that page.
