IEC working holiday visa expires in less than 30 days... application for change of status

Hi, I hope you can help me. My working holiday visa expires in less than 30 days and I need to apply for a change in status to “visitor”. The IRCC website states that you must apply 30 days before your current status expires. Does this mean I cannot apply, or can I as my current visa is still valid for now?

(I was hoping for an ITA for PR today but no draw and so now I’m screwed)

The 30 days is not a requirement. You can apply up until your current status expires.

Plus once you have applied to extend your stay as a visitor you will be on implied status as a visitor should your IEC expire until a decision has been made. Of course still means you must stop any work once your IEC expires.
