IEC work visa validity

Hi,

I was wondering if somebody could confirm this for me.

I received my letter of acceptance on the 28th of June, 2016. The letter says "you must seek entry to Canada to obtain your work permit by 28/06/2017." Does it mean that if I arrive now, I will only receive a work permit up to the 28th of June? Or will it still be for a year?

6/2017 is the date you must land by.

When you land with your acceptance letter, insurance for the duration, proof funds 2500 cdn you would be issued an iec permit for the length of time starting from the landing date applicable for your home country. So arriving for example Jan 6 your permit would be issued through Jan 5 2018.

Very important though to 1) have insurance for in your case 12 months from date of planned landing 2) passport validity for the duration. If in either case shorter than 12 months you would only get a permit issued for the shorter period.

Oh thank you so much for the answer! I was worried I wouldn't get it for a whole year and that would be a shame.
