IEC Work Visa Extension - Arriving Too Late

My current visa is expiring in the 28th July, new extension is supposed to be here on the 16th. The CIC website says they're working on applications from end of April now, I applied end of May.

Very worried that it won't arrive in time. What do I do if it's not here? Can I go to the embassy? Do I have to stop working? Do I have to leave the country??

Did you not read the posters other threads since this one ?

An IEC work permit by the way in itself cannot be extended unless an error was made by CBSA or IRCC when it was issued which was not the case here where if read the other threads the OP in fact applied for a BOWP and PR not an IEC extension.
