Hi,

First of all I want to apologise if this question is asked all the time, I can find similar ones from years ago but nothing recent ... at the same time this must be a common question and I feel like I'm going mad not being able to google up a definitive answer

I am Australian and applied through the IEC program. I got accepted and am leaving on the 4th of August and currently have comprehensive travel insurance for one year however the other day I read on the CIC website that I require coverage for the full duration of my stay which, assuming all goes well, will be 2 years. Unfortunately the majority of insurers I contact won't issues policies longer that 1 year and I am worried I am going to get to the border and they will only give me a 1 year visa because of this :( I called so many places today and they all said the same thing, only 1 year available! I've read a lot of stories of people turning up with one year and it being fine (but a lot of those stories are from people who went a couple of years ago) and the border people not even looking at it but I'm still nervous!! Will they give me another chance if I get there and it's wrong??

There are a few websites that seem to indicate they may do 2 years (duinsure, Arbetov) but they are from Insurers I've never heard of so of course I'm a little wary of them. Also Arbetov is medical only and also I don't know what level of cover I would need (my current one is unlimited).

Any advice/experiences would be appreciated... thanks.
