Hiya,

Anyone know if you can transfer your medical results from one permit to another? Or do you always have to repeat the entire process and pay all over again?

Wanting to apply for PR as have met and am marrying a Canadian, but don't want to have to do another medical when already did one for my IEC permit. Medical results are less than 2 years old

Sounds a bit cheap of me but it's a lot of money! :(

Thanks!

You have to do a new medical and pay all over again. Medicals are only valid for a year. From an immigration perspective the medical you did for IEC has expired.

Thanks for the message!

Hypothetically then, if the results are under a year old can you transfer it over then?

:)

Not sure it's possible. I think the medical for PR is different than the medical for IEC. However I don't know for certain.

The other issues is that even if they are transferable - and let's say you transfer them with a month left to spare - there's certainly a chance CIC will ask you to re-do them because they are so close to expiry which will result in delays to your application processing.
