So, I finally arrived in Canada as part of the International Experience program. I'd like to know if it's acceptable for me to do freelancing here (I'm a software developer)?

I read that freelancers have to charge GST/HST if having sales over $30k/year, so I would assume I would have to register for that? (If I'm able to that is...)

Any information regarding freelanced would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy.

You can certainly freelance since you hold an open work permit. I can't answer your GST/HST question. Hopefully someone else who can will stop by and comment.

Good to know, thanks for the info. I'll try and find more information about the GST/HST stuff, but at least I'm able to freelance!
