IEC Extension with imm5710e?

Hello all,

I just wanted some advice on something. My IEC Working Holiday Permit expires on June 15th 2017.

I had applied for Permanent Residency under EE several months ago but unfortunately it was recently canceled because I had over looked that my IELTS had recently expired. I am in the process of re-applying and takingf the test again but by the time I do and by the time it is all processed I will certainly be home in Scotland.

I was wanting to extend my permit by a few months and I wasn't entirely sure if I can use the "imm5710e" form for that or not. I'm currently working full time for an IT company and would have liked to continue working for them until the end of summer.

It seems like it is not possible but I just wanted to check anyway or see if there is anything at all I can do.

You cannot extend an IEC. You would either need to apply for another IEC (if your country allows it). Or, you would need to apply for a closed work permit which would require an approved LMIA from your employer.

If you want to continue working without interruption, your new work permit will need to be approved and in hand before your current work permit expires.
