IEC application - primary passport

I've signed up for a work visa a few weeks ago via the CIC online form.
There I've had to enter my passport number etc. which is all correct but i did not mark it as my primary passport.(The one I will travel to canada with)
With a bit of luck I got my invitation and had to fill out even more forms, also the passport one again.
But if I now enter my current passport (same as before) it says I cannot enter the multiple passports at the same time.
But I cannot set the old entry to primary passport also.

Did anyone had the same problem before or has any ideas?

Well I think it may involve having to make a new profile again unless it's a technical error although I think I did the same as you on the online form.

Yeah, but I fear to lose my visa invitation.(IEC)

I am having the same trouble. It states I have to add a primary passport however I am unable to edit the pre-populated areas which already has my current passport info. When I add it in again and tick "primary" it states you cannot add another document with the same details. I looked up how to delete the profile but when I follow the actions there is no "delete" button. Does anyone have a solution? I am worried that the application time will expire before it is fixed.

Today I received a response to my case specific enquiry regarding this topic.
But they just explained how I change the primary status of newly added passports, not the initial one.
So i think they did not really understand our problem.
But I will give the service hotline a try.
Hopefully someone else has a better solution.

Hey guys/girls!
I have a solution to our problem!
Just try to enter the passport string in lowercase instead of uppercase or vice versa, worked for me!
But I don't know if this will lead to confusion later on in the process or at the airport.

Hey I'll try this I was thinking the same as you didn't really wan't to lose the invitation so this is a better plan then deleting the profile I'm sure they would understand at the airport.

Hey guys!

I have the exact same problem as all of you. I don't remember to have seen the option to set the passport as primary in previous forms. So I guess it's a technical problem. I really hope they fix it soon. Time is running away for me, too...

I am not very convinced by the idea to write everything in lowercase as Canadian Immigration is very well known to be restrictive and check everything very well.

So I guess the best for all of us is to keep calling CIC and keep reporting the technical issue so they see it's a major problem for several people.

Hi,

I am experiencing the exact same problem as you guys! I have spent the last few days trying to get in contact with somebody that can help. I suspect there is a technical problem because I can´t remember that I had to fill in if the passport was primary or not in the first application. Hope it can be resolved...

Please write if anyone has got any tips or advice, or have heard from ICC what to do.

It still doesn't work for me.

I think I will cancel the application and start over. Anyone who knows if I should just "decline invitation", "delete profile" or "withdraw profile"?
