Last year I applied for an IEC work permit. Shortly after applying, I received an email informing me that the status of my application had changed. If I log in to the main page on the CiC website and scroll down to 'View my submitted applications', the status is marked as approved.
However, if I click to check status and messages, under 'Document Status', it says I have been approved a ETa, which is apparently issued upon successfully applying for a work permit. However this is valid until 2022, and apparently upon approval of a IEC visa, you must enter the country within a year? Below that in the 'Application Status' section, it says the final decision is that I was approved, but as it's now months after this and I have been planning my move to Canada, I don't see a letter of introduction. I only see 'Confirmation of submission' and 'Confirmation of online application transmission'.
I've double checked my submitted application and it was definitely for the IEC, and all documents were submitted including police checks.
I was wondering if I've overlooked something, if I'm being plain stupid, or if there's some sort of mistake?
Edit - I'm a UK citizen and have lived here all my life, if that information also helps.
