Hey guys.

So I read about this yesterday and now I'm wondering...
I know for IEC, I can't do work permit bridging, but I'm wondering if I apply for INLAND for OWP, can I still get that new OWP? Or will I be rejected because I was on IEC? I love my job and would hate to have to quit my job... just for clarification, my IEC does not expire until Aug 2019, and I'm planning on applying in January, so I definitely have enough time for OWP approval. Only question is if they'll reject it on the basis that I have an IEC ongoing. Do I still qualify for the OWP through common-law sponsorship, or would I have to wait for the entire PR approval to even start working again?

Thanks!

If you apply inland, you can apply for OWP as long as you have a valid status in Canada (e.g. for you, worker under IEC)
On average, you will get your OWP in 4 months. So you should be good if your current work permit is valid for another year.
