Hello everyone,

I am Canadian-Egyptian and I need help with the different names system in Egypt and Canada. In Canada, I go by the first and last name (fourth name), While on my Egyptian ID I go by 5 names in a row. So now I am applying to sponsor my spouse for residency, but I am confused how should I write my name and my husband name on the applications forms, which only provide space for family name and given name.

You need to write your name exactly as it appears in your passport. If you're sponsoring your spouse use your Canadian passport. If you have 4 or 5 names in your passport, write it in the application as so.

A surname can be more than one name and given name can also be more than one name as well.
