Identity Card Number?

My Australian wife has filled out her forms and we are very close to sending them to Mississauga. One question that keeps nagging me is Question 19 on the Application For Permanent Residence: "Your identity card number, if applicable". My wife wrote "Queensland Drivers License - #########" Is that ok or not acceptable? I know they can be picky and just don't want the application thrown away over something small like that.

Should be fine. I found on the CIC website:

19. Identity card number

Cards issued by a foreign national, provincial, municipal or other government, as well as cards issued by a recognized international agency such as the Red Cross, can be used to identify yourself. If you have such a card, print the number in the space provided. Photocopy both sides of the card and attach the photocopy to your application. If you do not have an identity card, print “N/A”.

For some reason this clause is not in the application guide for sponsorship but is in one of the other applications guides.

Thank you very much for the info.

My concern now is that she has already sent her forms to me and a photocopy of her driver's license was not included. Do you know if using white-out is an issue? I would just like to white it out and write "N/A" since she doesn't have a standard "Identity Card Number".

Canadaussie,
Just a suggestion...
Could you not just get her to copy both sides of her ID card and send it to you via email/fax/mail? You can then include it in the application before you send it to CPC-M.

Yeah, get her to copy her ID card and email, fax or express mail it.
