With reference to the Middle East version of the Immigrants Guide, on page 3 it asks for Identity and Civil Status Documents.

Provide the following:
birth certificates,
baptismal certificates, or
other official document confirming relationship for you and each of your family members.

I'm not very clear on this - can someone please jump in.

My wife will get her birth certificate, but with reference to family members, since I'm her husband, do I need to provide one of the above too? because the third option is 'other official document confirming relationship for you and each of your family members', so does would our marriage certificate suffice in that case, since it shows our relationship?

From this, if she just submits her birth certificate (we'll get it notarized), would this suffice? Further down on that page it asks for my citizenship certificate and our marriage certificate so we'll be submitting it there.

No family members in this case, they are referring to possible dependants or other situations. Birth certificates show the parents names and the child's country of birth.
You just need birth certificates for both you and her.

But since family members refers to possible dependents, how come I need to submit my birth certificate too?

I have no issue with it, just curious.

Also, my birth certificate had to be translated, but it was translated after being certified to be a true copy, would that be fine, or does the translated document itself need to be certified?

If I submit my birth certificate in French (I'm a Canadian with dual nationality), would that suffice then?

Or would CIC see an issue with the fact that it's a birth certificate from my other country of nationality?

Sorry one more question related to this, my birth certificate has a certified to be a true copy stamp on it, does it still further need to be notarized?
