Hi everyone! I am sure there are quite a few people with spouses and kids here.
My company is going to arrange the ICT work permit in Canada for me as a back-up plan for the H1B denial.
I am currently in the US with my wife and two kids (one child is also a dual US citizen, but my wife and first child aren't). We're on F1/F2, OPT cap-gap extension.
Can my family members apply for Canadian visas along with me so that we can travel to Canada together? Or should they depart to their country of origin until the COVID restrictions are in place?
I see there's no specific "ICT Dependent Visa" category, so should it be a visitor visa in this case? How do they prove their travel is non-discretionary? We are planning to drive to the Canadian border and cross by land together. What can be the implications if my family members are not issues any visas/not allowed to entry?
I am asking this question cause I want to make sure ICT to Canada is a safe option for my family. Otherwise I should start negotiating another type of transfer, UK or Australia, for example, as the company has offices there as well.
P.S. I also have a PR application pending, if it matters.
