I want to invite my boyfriend to canada but im confused!!!!!!

(My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and first met in Jamaica in 2010 as friends and later became close and started started dating in 2016).

I was born in London but am a Canadian citizen (have my passport and everything) and will be moving to Canada in January.

My boyfriend was born and raised in Jamaica, but he is currently in Nebraska USA on a student visa (sevis).

As he is not a American citizen I was wondering what options I have to invite him to have a visitors visa or if its best try a conjugal sponsorship visa.

I really need help I'm so confused on what to do and how to go about it.

You don't qualify for a conjugal sponsorship visa. There are no barriers to the two of you becoming common law partners or getting married. If you want to sponsor him - you'll either have to get married or live together for a year first to become common law. If try to sponsor him as conjugal - you'll be refused.

In terms of visiting - the best option is for him to apply for a visitor visa on his own. To be approved he will have to demonstrate that he has strong ties to his home country, has enough money to pay for his trip and has no plans on remaining in Canada long term.

Thanks so much for your reply, currently he will be studying for the next 4 years and therefore I believe that is a very strong tie. However, although he has family in Canada, they are awaiting their status and so I am his only candidate to provide an invitation letter. Other than the letter is there anything else i need to be prepared to provide ?
