Well its like this. Im a British guy living in the republic of ireland, im married to a brazilian and we have a kid born in ireland (we've lived here a long time). im basically working class, have been a home carer my whole working life not earning that much, my wife on the other hand works for squarespace in a decent position and earns a good living. my question is the title, how likely is it that we could emigrate to Canada? i know the state might not see much value in me, (not sure how much people who professionally wipe dirty asses are valued) my wife on the other hand might improve our chances.

cheers

It's hard to say without knowing more.

Suggest you start by researching the Express Entry program. This is a points-based program and those with the most points are seleceted for PR. You would want to achieve a score of 480+ to have a good chance of being picked. Your wife should be the primary applicant (not you) since it sounds like she has skilled work experience.

The following increase your points and chances of being selected: young age, skilled work experience, higher education (master's preferable), strong language test results (added points if you also know French and can take the French test), job offer in Canada (generally very difficult to secure).

Also - how old are you? There may be an option to try to get an open work permit which could potentially give you a path for immigrating to Canada (not guaranteed).
