Good day everyone! I've been known this forum for a long while, but it's my second time to post a new topic here, I haven't received my PRP yet, but hopefully I can be helpful here.. anyway, here is my timeline:
SINP application filed on Sep15, 2012; (actually I personally brought the whole package to the SINP office since I live in Regina
)
SINP file number received on Oct01, 2012;
SINP application approved on Feb12, 2013;
My work permit was about to expire, therefore I had to apply and wait for my new work permit before I can proceed my application to CIC;
Application mailed to Nova Scotia office on April08, 2013;
Application received on April11, 2013;
Immigration file number was received on June04, 2013;(is this also known as AOR??)
Medical request received on June10, 2013;
Medical done on June 12, 2013;
Medical results have been received by CIC on June19, 2013(I called the clinic);
My application status has changed to "In progress" in August, and it says "We started processing your application on August20, 2013";
RPRF was request on Sep6, 2013, I paid right the way, and email the receipt on Sep07,2013. Also CIC told me that my file has been transfered to the Case Processing Pilot in Ottawa for further review, so I hope that's a good sign!
Now I wait.
So I guess PNP is much faster than the rest of immigration categories when it comes to the federal part, because CIC doesn't have to do all the job offer check or work background again.
Some tips:
Write your personal history as specific as possible;
I apply SINP under NOV D category, yeah it sucks, but I had a good IELTS result which was 7, so maybe they didn't give me a hard time because of it?
I have been living in Canada ever since Sep15, 2005 without even leaving the country once, that's really rare...
Don't pay everything at once, I mean you only need to pay $550 application fee at the beginning, but leave that $490 alone until CIC ask to pay, at least it gives you an idea that "oh! someone in CIC is actually looking at my file now!";
I didn't know anything about the finger print criminal check in the first place, I only did the name&address criminal check in the local police station, and CIC hasn't asked me for the finger print criminal check yet, now they started processing my application, i guess im good to go;
If you have been asked to to the finger prints criminal check, DO NOT EVER apply that in the local police station, cuz it will take 90 days and everything will too late by then! Go to the RCMP commissionaire in your city and apply for the finger print criminal check, they scan your finger print right the way, and send ur request electrically, so the result will be issued within 72 hours, and you will receive ur criminal check in less than two weeks, that's my case anyway;
Do as many good things as you can, it will bring you goo karma...
