I put the wrong date for our common-law relationship

Hi,

I am sponsoring my partner to immigrate to Canada as my common-law partner. I've realised that in our application I entered the wrong date that we entered into our common-law relationship (my fault, I missed this bit in the instructions) as I entered the date we started living together, not one year from this date. I was consistent with this error throughout the application so it should be clear what I've done but is it worth contacting CIC to rectify this?

Did anyone do the same and find out wasn't a problem? Please help! Thank you in advance!

Many people have made this mistake, despite the very clear instruction in the guide, and had no issues with their app.

When you have noticed an error you must take steps to correct it.
if just by sending the updated forms and an explanation you can avoid processing delays I guess its worth it.
what may happen is that they may spot the error and although its a mistake they will ask for clarification and there goes a couple months.
whereas being proactive you can save that delay.
