Hi Guys,

I applied for CEC in april 2013 and now my federal skilled worker file is almost near to finish. I sent my passport for stamping yesterday. I just need to know that how can i withdraw my CEC file? Will I get refund for it? My online status for CEC is still application received and few days back they asked for RCMP fingerprinting which I wont submit now. So, how can I ask CIC people to close my CEC file? Thanks ;)

I thing you can just send a email to CPP-ottawa, requesting to withdraw the CEC application and explain the reason.

Btw, you wont get any refund. as they already started processing your application.

Thanks Honeysingh. But, i think processing of the file starts when they start eligibility assessment. I am not sure though!

Once you've received the AOR, processing has technically begun (even though it doesn't show on ECAS). You won't receive a refund.

And to answer the question, how to withdraw an application. I haven't found
any information about CEC applications, but sponship applications are withdrawn by sending an email.

[ Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-after.asp ]

They send an email to the office processing the applications with 'Withdraw Sponsorship Application' in the
subject line.

So shoot an email to ottpilot-immigration @ cic.gc.ca and put 'Withdraw CEC Application' in the subject line.
Make sure to include your name, UCI and application number in your email.
