Hi everyone.

I am currently ACCA student (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) from the UK and have ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) for now.

I do not have any work experience because I have been studying it for now.

Recently, I got one year long open work permit and want to work as a bookkeeper in Canada.

I have checked job specific skills and requirement from job-seeking websites and realized I do not have any knowledge in MC software programs and Canadian accounting software such as SAGE 50 and Quickbook.

I have some time before moving to Canada, so I am thinking of taking some bookkeeping online courses providing certificate.

Would it help me get a better job opportunity or what should I do ...

Any advice is welcome and I will be highly appreciated.

Thank you everyone.

Others can comment as well but without any work experience let alone lack of Canadian experience I would say that you will have a challenge in finding any job as a bookkeeper. For sure impossible to get a job offer from outside of Canada even if you say you have a permit which maybe assume could be an IEC one as employers want people to be available in country..

Assume you have checked whether your qualifications are recognised in Canada given as far I know there are specific requirements for accountants , no idea about bookkeepers
