Can somebody tell me if this letter is ok, I was arrested and Imigration is asking me for a letter explaining when i was arrested and the paper from the court!

To Whom It May Concern;
On March 4, 2010 I was arrested due to issues with the misuse of a credit card. After several appearances before a judge, on several different days (requiring an interpreter), the charges were dropped, ending the matter.
I hoped there was no record of what happened and that it is why I did not disclose it on the sponsorship questionnaire.
I sincerely apologize for this mistake.
Please also find attached a Provincial Court Record of Proceeding.

1. Detail what exactly you mean by "misuse of a credit card".

2. Detail the days when the proceedings took place, including time and who was present besides yourself.

3. Lose that part about "ending the matter", as obviously it didn't and this is an assumption on your part.

4. Absolutely don't use that sentence about "hoping there was no record so you didn't mention it." That's neither remorseful, nor does it imply taking responsibility for what you did.

5. Explain why you thought the matter would not go on your record. If this was another erroneous assumption, or if you had legal representation and that is the impression you got from their advice, or if you were self-represented and thought that since there was no charge that meant there was no record, say so. Don't minimize your actions, and don't try to blame someone else or give the impression you are doing either.

6. Do keep the apology for not noting the matter on your application and request that they kindly review the information attached.

He/she also must apologize for telling a lie. The question asks if you were ever "charged with an offence" as well. He/she knew very well that they were charged with a criminal offence as it went to court.
