Hi there,

I am planning to apply for a TRV this December and I need some advice. First, let me tell you about myself.

I am a 28 year old female from the Philippines. I am planning to go to Canada early next year and will be visiting my aunt (my father's sister) and best friend. My main purpose is for tourism and I plan to stay there for 3-4 weeks. They will be providing me food, accommodation and transportation throughout my trip.

Since I am unemployed and my parents are retired, my other aunt (from the states) has agreed to pay for the rest of my expenses such as, entrance fees to tourist spots, round trip tickets, shopping money, etc. I will be providing some of her bank statements to prove that she is able to provide for my trip. As for my own bank statements, I only have around P30,000.00 savings.

I do not have any land titles under my name. My recent travels are to Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia.

Would this satisfy a visa officer? If not, what do I need to do? I still have time to prepare.

Thanks! ;D

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
You are young, have no job, don't go to school so have time on your hands, no assets, not enough money (30K Peso is less than 1K Canadian) and is not enough even for the flight, no 'relevant' immediate family i.e. kids/spouse, no extensive travel history to a country with living standards similar to Canada excluding Singapore/HK. You are being sponsored not even by your parents but by aunts. Many visa applicants believe that their 'sponsor's' situation is what is assessed but those days are long gone. Now CIC focus on the applicant and what ties he/she has to his/her home country that will compel them to return home after a genuine visit. On paper this is an easy quick refusal and a waste of your visa application fee because you fit almost to perfection the profile of someone who is a high risk of not leaving Canada but staying and working illegally, trying to get married etc. I suggest you get a job and after a minimum 6 months apply for the visa. Sorry that's not the news you want to hear but you can always try and hope for the best. Good luck

My parents are separated and I was brought up by my aunts my whole life. So yes, my aunts are the ones paying for this trip.

I live with one of my aunts who is now a senior citizen. We are both dependent on each other, me financially and her, being an old maid, she needs me to take care of her. That is why this is going to be a short trip. Can this be considered as family ties?

My other aunt has offered to give me P150,000.00 to spend for my entire trip. How can I state this in my application?

Lastly, I do have a small business (selling clothes) which is not registered. That is why I do not really call myself as "self-employed." Would it help if I registered this business now?
