i need help with my citizenship

hello everyone.
i was born in nigeria in 1993, my mother is from nigeria and my father is from greece.. so i have nigeria and greek passports right now.. my father lived in canada for more than 50years with his other wife and two kids whom where born there.. my father was a citizen of canada when i was born.. i dont have any certificate of his or any document that belong to him.. i gave the canadian immigration his name and date of birth and the find his record that his was granted canadian citizenship by naturalization in 1772 and also with his canadian passport number.. thats the only proof i have right now that he was a canadian.. i've talked to few lawyer and they told me its possible, so can i apply for permanent resident in canada now??

If he was a citizen when you were born, then you are a citizen. You should be applying for a citizenship certificate.

edit: You will need to establish that he was a citizen when you were born (with his certificate of Canadian citizenship), and that are his child (he should be named on your birth certificate).

yeah that's what i was told.. but i dont have any certificate of him or nothing.. but i have the proof immigration gave me that he was canadian citizen and his canadian ID number and when he became canadian.. and i have my birth certificate with his name on it.. is that going to be enough?

You would need to contact CIC or a Canadian lawyer to see whether alternate documentation is acceptable.

the thing is that he's late, and when he died the wife took all his documents and i cant get access to the documents right now.. so nothing can be done with the proof i have huh? plus having nigerian and greek passport wont effect the application right?
