hi, ok well im looking to find out what steps should me and my Dominican fiancé do in order to come to Canada, ive read threads about sponsoring, visitor visas etc,,,,currently I live in montreal , quebec. so here goes

on my end: what do I need to do? how much money will this cost? is sponsoring the same as applying for a visa? do I need a lot of money in my bank account? plz, any info you might have will help so much

on his end, what does he need, money, etc,,,,

There is no such thing as sponsoring for visitor visa. You either sponsor him for permanent residency as your husband, which takes between 6-18 months, depending on reigion, or he can apply for a visitor visa, which he or you will have to provide evidence of sufficient fund for the duration of stay, as well as convince the visa officer that he will return to his country after the allowed time. He cannot work or have access to any social or health services unless he is a permanent resident.

You may apply for both at the same time. In other words you can apply to sponsor him and then he can try to get a visitor visa. Chances may be low that he will get a visitor visa since he is applying for PR.
