I need help figuring out if am being scammed or not

I saw a post in a group saying they're a recruitment agency that are based in Canada and are currently also based in China helping people with job in and outside china. i applied for a job in Canada and a few days later got a job offer as a waiter and I paid them half of their service fee now am working on the visa form cause in the letter the hotel is sponsoring the visa and flight tickets but am beginning to have a feeling it a scam and I need to confirm the company is konlax PLC with Website www.konlaxplc.com/China

A hotel in Canada would be very unlikely to sponsor a permit and pay for flight ticket for a waiters job. Do you think there are no available waiters in Canada ? This fact alone should be a red flag. Which hotel is it and which location so others can be made aware to avoid what sounds like a scam ?

It's definitely a scam. No hotel is going to pay to recruit a waiter from outside of Canada - never mind cover their airfare.

Sorry, we try to catch these but there are so many of them.
Just don't ask for a refund, as it appears that they want you to provide a card with lots of money available on it. I wonder why...
