My name is Andy .....SIN # ...-...-....I’m married in Japan to a landed immigrant there from the Philippines. We have a child.
I have a copy of the marriage document from Japan and also from The Philippine government as both my wife and I went through our embassies when we married in Japan.I wish to know if I am considered married in Canada or not.I got each document stamped by the embassy in Tokyo.I called vital stats and they said they only deal with marriages that happened in BC.I am confused as I was told I could get my marriage solemnized in BC.Vital stats informed me its the business of the federal government, not them.It was the federal government who advised me to contact vital stats.I’m busy working and can’t keep quitting jobs to visit my daughter.I would like them to come here to visit.I know she can apply for a tourist visa, but has been a stay at home mom recently as |I send money off and on.Can I apply for their tourist visa? I would appreciate some solid answers on this. When my baby was born,my wife was still going through her divorce from her husband. Therefore I also need to get my babies citizenship at some point unless they only visit me off and on.I have hundreds of pictures of my family before during and after the baby was born.I also want to know if there is a regional office I can go to to get some council on these matters.I’m working in northern British Columbia. How can I find out if the Canadian government recognises my marriage and if not,how do I get it solemnised. We will marry on Canada when they visit. Therefore how do I apply for their tourist visa?
