Hello guys,

Recently I came to Quebec as a chef in a temporary work permit for 3 years. I want to join French school (possibly 6 months-1 year) to improve my language but school ask me to submit Study permit. Can I apply study permit to join french school by keeping my work permit status same. Is it allow to get study permit for short time to join french school by holding work permit. Please suggest me. Thanks!

I am not a permanent resident. Those courses are for permanent resident. I am holding temporary work permit. Visa type W1. If I want to go school, they ask me study permit. Is it possible to get study permit as a temporary worker holding same visa status W1.

Nope, you are either a full time student or a full time worker, you can't hold both (I know, off campus work permits, but it wouldn't apply in this case)

You don't need to be pr as long as your work permit is valid? Try call this its a community service gives free French class in cote des neiges. It's a weekend class. 5 hours a week.

No; you can not apply for study permit as at a time you can’t hold both, you need to be full time student to get study permit.

I called siari and they do not provide french courses to people who do not have csq.
I have a work permit type 20, I am looking for french courses that are affordable. I have already looked at ymca, its way too costly for me.
