I have not recieved any file number

Hello to all

I am from Iran I have applied for skilled worker immigration about 5 month later and I sent my application
to Canada embassy in Damascus (Syria)
but I haven't any file number or AOR(Acknowledgement of Receipt) letter since now

Do you know how much it long ?
Don´t you think that I must recieved this code since now ?
Do you know any way for find out why I haven't recieved AOR ?
In my application I wrote my Email address , do they send file number to email for who got email address ?

I have no idea, how long it takes to recieve AOR from Syrian office, which NOC have you applied? It was under new 38 occupation list? I think you should write one email for information, but first wait and let see, hope some one from your country or atleast same visa office will reply for make things clear. Go to this website http://www.trackitt.com/ and try to find time line for AOR or any further step, hope you will find some applicants from Iran or Syria which will help you to understand timeline. My personal idea is, if you occupation is under new 38 list, then they should process fast follow to new rules, but let see.

It could also be that your application was sent to Sydney, NS by Damascus and they will then get back to you, so it might take a little time. Like Mahharouf said, trackitt.com is a great place to check other people's application. You could filter it by Damascus and look for Iran.

I was checking on Trackitt too, there are about 7 applicants from syria and iran on Trackitt, but every one of them recieved their AOR within 2 or maximam of 3 months. In this case of Op, what you advise him, should he contact embassy by calling or email about his/her application or still wait. I red here on fourms some applicants return their applications because their NOC were not in 38 list, but in all cases , 5 months is really long period for AOR.

OP should tell us whether he applied before nov 2008 or after. If before, then its probably not long, but if after, he should have gotten a reply by now. i guess since he applied to damascus, he is before nov 2008, then it might take a little while. Not sure what to advise him, perhaps sending an email would be good (provided he did send his application to damascus and not sydney)
