To apply for asylum, you need to be approved for a visitor visa (showing funds, ties to home country, travel history). Once you enter Canada at the airport, you claim asylum. Make sure you have proof of persecution (medical, police, emails etc.).

Alternately, if you have family or friends, a group of 5 of them can apply to sponsor you.
Other than that, you wait for UNHCR to relocate you and that won't necessarily be to Canada.

Apart from group 5 sponsorship and UN, you have to have a visa to come to Canada then claim asylum. There aren't any other way.
