I have a work permit till next year, but a student visa that expires soon.HELP!

Hi,
I recently applied for a Post grad work permit, after I finished my course. I got the work permit valid till next year, but my visa is still a student visa(which expires in a couple of months). I left the country to visit family, will I be able to enter Canada now with my student visa, but a work permit?!...Please help!!!

You will be able to enter Canada on that student visa provided you return before the expiry date on that visa. In order to return at a later date, you need to apply for a multiple entry visa through the closest visa office outside the country.

PERMITS and VISA's are two different documents. Permits allow you to DO something in Canada. Visa's allow you to enter Canada. If your visa expires, as the other poster said, you can apply for a new one through the nearest visa office outside of Canada. You only need the visa if you plan to travel outside of Canada and wish to re-enter.
