I have a study work permit and I am aware that the conditions of my permit only allows me to work a certain amount of hours, however due to unforeseen circumstances and medical issues I had to drop this current semester (Winter 2018). Understanding that if I remain in Canada I would be violating my terms so I left and returned back to my country.

I wish to return back to Canada in September 2018 however I would like to work full time and then later complete my studies. Is there a way for me to return to Canada on a study permit and work full time or would I have to apply for a work permit. *Side note, I had a part time job while living in Canada and the employer is willing to hire me back upon my return to Canada.

Also I was interested in starting a business during this time, I have already obtained a Master Business License and the company was only open for a few months but because I return to my hometown I had to temporarily shut it down.

If you want to work full time, you need a job offer from an employer in Canada and that employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA. The LMIA process typically takes 3-5 months to complete and the first step is for the employer to advertise the job for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role.

Once you have a job offer and approved LMIA from the employer, you can apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.
