does anyone know how recent the reference letter have to be?????? one of mine was written on june 15 2012 and i will be ready to mail out on the first or second week or july???? ur inputs are highly appreciated

Should be fine, mine was one month old when I submitted

My reference letters were dated this year but two of them in February and one in June, my application reached Sydney June 18th. Does it say anywhere on their website that it must be dated within a specific time frame from the date of your application?

Date on the reference letter does not matter. All that you should be concerned is that it evidences minimum 24 months of Canadian work experience in the last 03 years and conforms to the below.

(1) On company letterhead
(2) Signed by responsible officer / supervisor
(3) Have the name printed name and title of the responsible officer / supervisor beneath the signature.
(4) Show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses,
(5) Stamped with the company's official seal.

Letters must include all of the following information -

(1) the specific period of employment with the company
(2) the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position
(3) main responsibilities and duties in each position
(4) total annual salary plus benefits
(5) the number of hours worked per week

recent is not defined, but one month should be OK, as long as it does not pre-date any experience/hours you need to qualify.
