I applied for Alberta PNP. Should I start generic foreign skilled worker too?

I understand that under the foreign skilled worker program there is the generic version where you apply with a visa office directly (here in the US it would be Buffalo), and there is the PNP program.

I just applied through the PNP program and mailed everything to Alberta. I am thinking that there might be an off chance that I dont get nominated by Alberta. So should I also start the generic version right away also?

Any suggestions?
