I recently migrated to Canada from Barbados as a permanent resident.resident. I have been residing in Burlington,Ontario at my mother-in-laws house until we learn the new environment.We are family of 3,We are planning to settle here.What are some of the things we should know before renting a place and what documents would we need?I have secured a job,but my wife and kid are yet to secure a job.We have enough savings for rent and other utilities.Do they require a credit check?We are new and having credit cards for the first time, so there's real long line of credit history, just about 2 months.What documents do landlords typically require?

It all depends of the landlord or what they require for you to move in. Generally a credit check and a void check are needed as well as first and last month rent. Just call any landlord you want to rent from and ask them what they require from you before moving in.
