Dears!

My brother in Canada is ready to sponsor me but I surely would not make go through all the hassle if I know I do not fulfil the basic requirements for the program.

I am one unfortunate exceptional man who has only done Matriculation from Pakistan (for those who do not understand, I have no completed my high school) which is equivalent to Grade 10. After doing matric though, I hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA). Would that qualify as post secondary education?

I have a decent job in my field for over 3 years and everything else is in place but this.

Hoping for some feedback from the experiences ones.

Thanking you in advance.
A.

Shameless bump or not, I'll give you another bump, just for your great nick name!!! I'm guessing your challenge is not having enough years of education to get the education points you need? Sadly, I don't have any answers for you, but I have a suggestion. In your post I think you may have forgotten a letter on the sentence "I have NO completed my high school". Should it be NOT? I hope someone will officially answer your question about post secondary education (would you have taken the same accounting courses if you HAD done two more years of high school? Would you normally have to take years 11 and 12 before getting into the accounting programme?) I hope someone with documented proof can come up with some solid answers for you.
I did a google for a comparison between Pakistani and Canadian education equivalency.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secondary_education#Pakistan
PakistanMain article: Education in Pakistan
Secondary education in Pakistan begins from grade 9 and lasts for four years. Upon completion of grade 10, students are expected to take a standardised test administered by a regional Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (or BISE). Upon successful completion of this examination, they are awarded a Secondary School Certificate (or SSC). This locally termed as 'matriculation certificate' or 'matric' for short. Students then enter a college and complete grades 11 and 12. Upon completion of grade 12, they again take a standardised test which is also administered by the regional boards. Upon successful completion of this test, students are awarded the Higher Secondary (School) Certificate (or HSC). This level of education is also called the F.Sc./F.A. or 'intermediate'. There are many streams students can choose for their 11 and 12 grades, such as pre-medical, pre-engineering, humanities (or social sciences) and commerce. Some technical streams have recently been introduced for grades 11 and 12.

Good Luck.

Howdy!

Yeah there was a typo there, thanks for pointing out.

Thank you for taking time and giving your feedback. I am well aware of the Pakistan educational system since I am from Pakistan. You see the SINP program mentions 'Have completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship of at least one year in length that has resulted in a diploma, a certificate, or a degree'

The program that I did is a global accounting qualification. You can start it after grade 10 though. It is considered to be equivalent to Masters degree in U.K (the program is based there)

It surely is considered to be a post secondary program but the only problem here is that am I in the 'post secondary' position since I didnt complete my secondary education according to Canada ( i.e high school)

Its such a weird twisted scenario I know :)

Thanks again though for your feed back.

I provided the comparison of the education systems in the hope that it would help others understand matriculation, etc. My thought is that unless you satisfied the requirements for acceptance into the accounting programme you would not be able to enrol. The way it is written, ('Have completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship of at least one year in length that has resulted in a diploma, a certificate, or a degree',) you only have to prove you have successfully COMPLETED a particular post secondary programme of at least one year. I am not an expert and have no immigration background, but I don't see why it wouldn't be accepted. Hope others will give their opinions.
