I am getting Married this month can my gf sponser me?

Hello all,

So me and girl friend we both are on PGWP and now she is applying for her permanent residence status under caregiver program. We moved in together 1 month ago and Now she will be applying for her permanent resident in this week and we are planning to get married within a month. (civil marriage). Now here is the question.

-> If her file is already in the process, can she sponsor me or she has to wait for her application to get approved 1st to sponsor me?
-> Do we have to go to honeymoon to prove them that it is genuine? (asking this because applying for permanent residence is expensive and we are broke already)
-> she is already showing $5000 for her immigration, does she have to show more?

FYI:
-> I have still 2 more years before my pgwp expires and her's is expiring in 3 months.
-> We both have NOC class A job
-> The apartment we are living in, the lease is under her name and some utility bills are under mine
-> of course we have million photos together


If the answer is yes, does we have to take anything to consideration when she is applying for my sponsorship?

You have to prove youthat realtionship been a long time plus you can ask her to add you I can be wrong or after two years you can apply for your own pr

What do you mean by i can ask her to add me? also the only way i can prove is from the pictures, also the relationship has been only for a year. I don't know if that is considered as a long time as per CIC

Your saying your fiancee is applying for pr right, because normally they ask if there is any dependent that she wants to add to her application because if she has your name on it it is easier for her to sponsor you. If she does not have your name on her application and she tries to sponsor you it can be denied

As you are getting married before she becomes a PR, she must add you to her application.

You need to post in the Foreign Worker section of the forum. Your situation is not a Family Class case.

She will not sponsor you. After you get married you will be added to her own PR application as a spouse "accompanying dependent". As mentioned, this is NOT a family class sponsorship.

If she has already submitted her application as single, then she would just update it with the visa office processing her file to add you after you get married. You will need to pass medical and police checks, and you will both get PR status together.

They may ask for proof of the relationship to show the marriage is genuine and not a marriage of convenience. So showing photos together, shared finances, living together, etc will all help.

There should not be additional income requirement.
