Okay. I am Canadian and I have been in the USA for 8 years on a L2 visa, then a F1 visa now an OPT card. I am trying to decide whether or not I want to move back to Canada. I read somewhere that if a Canadian gives birth to a child in america.. that child is already considered canadian citizenship (As well as american) is that true??

2nd.. if that is true.. is it possible for my son to hold duel citizenship in america and canada
3rd.. how can i get him a passport for canada.. or should i get him an american one or how should i go about doing this.

i want him to be able to live in canada with me and get all the health benefits etc..
but i also want him to be able to come to usa when ever he wants when he gets older even move here if he wants to move back to usa

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
You should get him both passports. His proof of US citizenship is his birth certificate. With that, you can get him a US passport.

As for getting him Canadian citizenship, as long as you are either a born Canadian or a naturalized Canadian, you pass citizenship to your child. In order to apply for his citizenship certificate, start reading here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/proof.asp Once you have the certificate, that is his proof of Canadian citizenship and you can use that to apply for his Canadian passport.
