I am applying for student ppermit visa. Need some help

I have got admission from university of Ontario Institute of technology for masters of engineering in electrical & computer engineering department. I have scored 85% during last 4 years in my engineering and I finished my electronics and communication engineering in may 2016. I have 7.5 overall score in IELTS with not less than 6.5 in each section. I am applying for January 2017. There are no year gaps.

I am applying for student permit visa from Kuwait and I am an Indian passport holder. I have got good financial support from my parents so showing funds is not a problem. But I want to know how can I make my family ties strong so that I can convince them that I will return back to my home country after my stay?

I have American tourist visa but it is on the expired passport and the visa is still valid so is it necessary that while dispatching my passport i can send my american visa as well? I have heard student's visa getting rejected due to travel history. But I haven't visited US not even once. So is it necessary that I should make my travel history before applying?

I would highly appreciate if someone could help me.
