Hi:

I am an American Citizen who just graduated from a good university with a degree in Economics. I want to be able to move to Canada and be able to legally work there. I am having a hard time finding a job without having a visa. Can someone tell me what the quickest way to get a visa is to work.

Thanks,

K. Kalyani

K., what you want is going to be very difficult. You want a work permit (not a visa), and you have to find an employer willing to get HRSDC approval for a Labor Market Opinion (LMO) before you can get a work permit. It's not impossible, but... eluta.ca and jobbank.gc.ca are places to start looking. Consider graduate school in Canada if you really want to come to Canada.

Or you could look into the Youth Exchange program if you meet the criteria. It's not permanent immigration but would give you chance to live and work in Canada for a time to see if you really like it.
