Hi everyone, I have few questions and seeking your assistance:
  1. I have become PR on Jan 2021 and is about to get married by next 2 months. Do I have option to apply for Temporary Residence Visa for my wife? Or, i must apply for spousal sponsorship?
  2. Can I apply for sponsorship from outside Canada?
  3. What is the usual turn around time for spousal sponsorship?
  4. Is it online process or offline process?
I looked at the processing times and it appears that it is 12 months if I am applying from outside. Considering the time it takes to get the sponsorship approval, what are my best options here?

1. Your spouse can certainly apply for a TRV. Chances of approval are probably 50/50.
2. No.
3. Around 12 months.
4. IRCC recently made an online application process available.

Thanks for your response. Please clarify further questions.

Where do you see this option? I just checked sponsorship process and do not see online option there. All it says is to apply by paper and mail them the documents

TRVs for a spouse before you get married is more likely to be approved if they have a job, property, their savings, etc. It is unlikely to be processed within 2 months unless they have immediate family in Canada but you can certainly try. Getting a TRV as the spouse of a PR was very difficult to get before covid. With covid chances seem to have approved dramatically but so did sponsorship processing time. As processing times decrease I assume TRVs may go back to being very difficult to obtain. It is very difficult and expensive to deport someone from Canada so allowing spouses of PRs or citizens to get TRVs creates the potential for immigration fraud especially if there is very little relationship history. In some countries an interview is part of the sponsorship process to try to identify true relationships. In cases where there are arranged marriages or in cultures where dating is not culturally acceptable it is hard to differentiate between true relationships and relationships to obtain status in Canada.

It also says due to COVID-19, they’ll now return incomplete applications by email if they’ve made a digital copy. Otherwise, they’ll mail it back to you.

does anyone have any further comments?
Google the online option. No one has details on it as its new so asking here won't help much. Do your research. It's there somewhere as people in the forum have found it.

Anyone who has to be told how to search for the online option probably shouldn't be using it.
That part... Well I guess I was being too nice. But yes we can't do everything otherwise we should start getting some of these consulting fees being paid out.
